LHRH Agonists and Antagonists

LHRH (luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone) antagonists and antagonists are Androgen Deprivation Therapies (ADT). Antagonists bring testosterone levels down to “castrate levels” in as little as three days. They are used in high-risk scenarios. LHRH agonists cause an initial surge in testosterone, and then it takes approximately 28 days for testosterone levels to drop.
